Orange Is the New Bold: Embracing My Signature Colour
Ooh hello! It’s me again — wearer of too many hats, spiller of too much tea (physical, not verbal lol), and unapologetic orange enthusiast.
If you’d asked me a few years ago what my “signature colour” was, I probably would’ve said black. Or maybe dark grey if I was feeling spicy. But lately? Oh, babes… it’s orange. Loud, playful, slightly unhinged orange. And I’m absolutely living for it.
Why orange?
Well, for starters — it’s warm, it’s bold, and it makes me feel like I’ve actually got the main character energy I’ve been faking for years. It’s also the colour of pumpkins, marigolds, autumn leaves, rebellious sunsets, and that chaotic middle stage of dyeing fabric where everything looks like a mistake before it magically turns out alright. (Relatable, honestly.)
But more than that, orange has become a bit of a personal rebellion. Against playing small. Against feeling like I have to water myself down. Against the whole idea that I need to wear neutral tones to be “taken seriously.”
Nah. I’ll take orange over beige any day, thanks.
A neurodivergent glow-up
For me, embracing orange has been part of learning to love the parts of myself I used to tone down — especially being neurodivergent. I used to think that I had to shrink to fit. To make myself quieter, smoother, more palatable. But these days? I’m letting myself be bright, bold, and maybe even a bit much.
Turns out, being “too much” is actually just being enough for the right people.
Dandy & Rebel in Technicolour
You’ll start seeing more orange popping up across Dandy & Rebel — whether it’s linings, labels, packaging or full-on statement pieces. It pairs gorgeously with my beloved blues and pinks, and it adds that slightly cheeky punch of “yes I did choose chaos today.”
So here’s to orange — the colour of courage, creativity, and controlled chaos. It’s not just a colour for me anymore. It’s a vibe. A mood. A full-blown lifestyle choice.
I am pumpkin spice!
Sweet, spicy, occasionally overwhelming… and best consumed in fabulous quantities. Catch me in the wild, serving gourd-core realness and collecting compliments from crows.
